I won’t accept any deal that fails to safeguard affordable healthcare for millions of Americans.

Janelle Bynum for Congress

You’ve probably already heard: the House voted to end the government shutdown — but their deal does nothing to address the cuts to or cost of Americans’ healthcare.

That’s unacceptable.

Everywhere I go in Oregon, my constituents ask me to protect their healthcare. They’re staring down health insurance plans that are hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars more than last year.

This has left too many people worried about how they’re going to take care of everything — from affording healthcare to putting food on the table to keeping a roof over their head.

So I refused to accept a deal that fails to safeguard affordable healthcare for millions of Americans. I’ve been ready to reach a deal that ends the shutdown and makes life better for Oregonians, but that’s just not what was proposed.

I’m standing strong to hold Republicans accountable for the healthcare crisis they caused — and that’s why I voted NO on this deal in the House. I’m not going to back down in the fight to protect Oregonians’ healthcare, so if you’re with me, please chip in today to help us take back the House →
