Friend, last night, Congress voted on a deal that fails to lower soaring health care costs for hundreds-of-thousands of Ohioans.

This is a bad deal for Ohioans – and a bad deal for the American people.

Millions of folks could soon see their monthly health insurance premiums double or triple, and this does nothing to help them. We cannot give up the fight.

But let me also say this: At any point over the last 43 days, Jon Husted could’ve voted to end the shutdown and fund health care for Ohioans. He didn’t. He chose to stand by his special interest friends while Ohioans suffered.

I will always fight to protect Ohioans, make health care more affordable, and level the playing field for working people. And right now, the momentum is behind our message and our movement: A new poll shows me 1 point ahead in this race.

We can flip Ohio’s Senate seat and chart a new path forward – but only if we’re in this together.
