On MSNBC, Jena interjected to make sure viewers heard the truth. She urged Gov. Kasich to reach out to Democratic Secretaries of State and pointed out that many election officials are being driven out by ongoing threats and harassment.

She warned that Trump’s return to the political stage has already made things worse: his first moves were to pardon insurrectionists, including one who went on to threaten House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. At the same time, he’s dismantling key federal protections against cyberattacks and using the Justice Department to target Democratic election officials.

Jena made it clear: our elections will be successful in 2026 – but only because of the courage and determination of those fighting to defend democracy.
