Fair systems build strong countries, help us make every voice count. Dear Friend, Generations of Canadians fought to strengthen and protect our democracy. Now it's up to us to safeguard it. Across Canada, votes don’t count the way they should. A party can earn millions of votes and win only a handful of seats. Others can win a majority of seats with less than half the votes. That’s not fair. And it doesn’t help build trust among voters. In places like New Zealand and Germany, every vote truly counts. Their proportional systems ensure that their Parliaments reflect what people actually voted for. Cooperation between parties with shared goals is normal and expected. Hope replaces cynicism. Democracy grows stronger. That’s what we’re fighting for through our Safeguarding Canada’s Democracy Campaign. Because when every vote counts, Canadians can come together to solve problems and shape a better future. The Green Party set a goal to raise $185,392 before November 30 to power this movement.
