Last week, Virginians made history. We flipped seats, expanded our majority, and secured a Democratic trifecta that will shape our Commonwealth for years to come.
But make no mistake, the far right is already plotting its comeback.
Their playbook is called Project 2025.
It’s the MAGA movement’s master plan, a 900-page roadmap to dismantle democracy, roll back civil rights, erode the federal government, gut protections for women and workers, erase climate progress, and hand sweeping power to an authoritarian presidency. It’s being enacted, funded, and tested right now by Trump’s closest allies and the same extremists who poured millions into Virginia’s elections.
Virginia’s victories pushed us forward, but the threat of Project 2025 still looms large. We beat them here, but they’ll be back in 2026, in 2028, and every election in between.
That’s what Project 2025 is: it’s a long game.
And defeating it requires one, too.
The fight against this agenda doesn’t happen every two years; it happens every day. In every local race, every statehouse, every organizing shift, and every conversation with a neighbor that builds our firewall higher.
Our job now is to make Virginia the model, not the exception. That means keeping our grassroots movement strong, our organizers in the field, and our voices loud from now through the midterms and beyond.
We can’t afford to treat this as a victory lap. It’s a call to arms, for everyone who believes democracy isn’t something we win once, but something we protect every day.
