Weekly Poll
I ask. You answer.

Honoring Our Veterans
I was honored to meet “Billy” Byrd, a World War II veteran. Billy served in the United States Marine Corps and was in the first wave that landed on Iwo Jima in February of 1945. Billy and his company fought for 32 days before they defeated the Japanese and retook the island. Billy, thank you for your sacrifice for the sake of our freedom.
I was grateful to have the opportunity to speak to students and veterans in Florence as they celebrated Veterans Day. It was a great event that honored the service of our brave warriors, who have sacrificed to protect this great nation.

I was honored to attend the Brandon Veterans Day Breakfast, as the city remembered the service of Brandon native Louis Wilson. General Wilson served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam and was also a Medal of Honor recipient. It was great to celebrate the life and legacy of General Wilson with such an outstanding group of veterans.
Introduced a Veterans Day Resolution
I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize and honor our Veterans. I am thankful for all who have served.

Ending the Shutdown
The Senate finally voted and passed a bill to reopen the government. After a long 40+ days, the House is back in session to vote. On final passage, the bill will reopen the government into late January and would pass three of the 12 regular order spending bills. We’re going to hopefully, by the end of the week, be able to reopen the government. Tune in here for the rest of the interview with WDAM7.

Deporting Criminals
Even though the government has been shut down, we have still been working to make our streets safer and to remove violent criminals from our communities. Click here to see some of the criminal aliens that the Trump Administration has recently deported.
Preparing for America’s 250th Anniversary
On July 4, 2026, the United States of America will celebrate its 250th anniversary. As we look forward to that celebration, please check out these resources from the White House that tell the story of America. Here is the next installment in the series.
