Last week’s election results sent a clear message: voters rejected the direction in which Trump is steering this country. Yet despite resounding wins across the board, Schumer squandered the leverage that Democrats could have used to win real protections against Trump’s cruel agenda. At stake were affordable healthcare for millions and No Kings protections against Trump’s planned overreach to rescind funding as he sees fit, even after it’s already been approved by Congress. To make matters worse, not only did Schumer fail to lead Senate Democrats, he didn’t even join the latest negotiations that led to their downfall.* That isn’t leadership.
