Republicans took more vacation days in the last two months than most Americans have taken in the last three years.

John,

Yesterday, Republicans returned to Washington to finally do their jobs after an 8-week-long taxpayer-funded vacation, though they got a little touchy when I called them out on it:

Ansari: Welcome back from your eight weeks of taxpayer funded vacation.

Foxx: I am sick and tired of hearing you say we had an eight week vacation.

Ansari: That’s exactly what happened

Speaker Mike Johnson canceled votes, sent Republicans home for vacation, and refused to convene the House for nearly two months. Meanwhile, federal workers went without paychecks and Americans across the country stressed over the increases to their health care premiums.

The Republican party is responsible for this shutdown, and they could’ve, at any opportunity, agreed to extend health care subsidies to reopen the government and get back to business.

It’s clear that Republicans cannot govern effectively. I’m fighting to keep them accountable — but I need your help to do it. Will you rush a contribution right now to support my work?
