For 43 days, Republicans in Washington have held our country hostage — shutting down the government, threatening federal workers, and pushing families to the brink — all because they refuse to make health care affordable for hardworking Americans.

Now, they’re trying to pass a continuing resolution that fails to fix skyrocketing health care costs for millions of families — including tens of thousands right here in southern Nevada. That’s why I’ll be voting no .

Here’s the truth:

* More than 20 million Americans rely on ACA tax credits to afford their insurance.


* Without action, costs could rise by up to fourfold , putting coverage out of reach for families who are already stretched thin.


* And while Nevadans worry about how to pay their bills, Republicans are focused on tax breaks, luxury galas, and political games.



There are parts of this bill I support — paying federal employees, protecting SNAP and WIC, and keeping the government open — but I won’t give a free pass to a plan that ignores the health care crisis hurting Nevada families.

While I fight to bring down costs and protect access to care, Republicans are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into attack ads to distort my record and mislead voters. They know this race could decide control of the House — and they’re already trying to buy it.
