Dear Jack,

For nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Executive Director of American Wild Horse Conservation, working alongside an extraordinary team and community united by a shared mission: protecting America’s wild horses and burros.

As AWHC enters a new chapter, I wanted to share that I will be stepping back from my leadership role.

This decision comes with deep gratitude for all that we’ve accomplished together and confidence in the strong foundation this community has built over the years.

Thanks to the dedication of supporters like you, AWHC has grown into a powerful force for humane management and lasting change. Our collective efforts have advanced humane solutions to managing wild horses and burros, safeguarded wild herds across the West, and elevated the national conversation about wild horse protection.

During this planned transition, Chair of the AWHC Board, Patricia Miller, will guide the organization forward. I will remain available to support the team as needed while Patricia and the AWHC staff continue the critical work ahead.

Patricia brings with her a wealth of leadership experience and a deep commitment to our mission. You’ll be hearing from her and the AWHC team in the days and weeks ahead, as they continue the important work that we’ve built together.

I’m grateful for your steadfast support of AWHC’s mission. The fight to keep America’s wild herds free is far from over, and I’m confident this community will continue to lead the way.

For the wild ones,
