Dear friend,
Over 700 leaders.
From 102 countries.
Representing 300 million small-scale farmers, fisherfolk, pastoralists and other grassroots communities.
That's who came together to gather at the 3rd Nyéléni Global Forum in Sri Lanka [[link removed]] .
Since the first gathering in 2007, the forum has become the beating heart of the global food sovereignty movement .
Participants reaffirmed that the Nyéléni process is an organizing arc towards the vision of liberation , not simply a one-off event. In the final declaration, they wove together diverse struggles into a shared vision and four global campaigns as follows:
* “To halt industrial aquaculture and fishing, the blue economy, privatization of oceans, as well as industrial and factory farming;”
* “To counteract the privatization and commercialization of health systems and defend social protection, including ancestral medicines;”
* “To establish an international framework for trade based on food sovereignty and to promote mutually beneficial and transformative trade relations locally and globally;” and
* “To transform the global debt architecture, while recognizing the need to converge with anti-debt movements to raise grassroots concerns.”
Together, the gathering composed a growing constellation of resistance and renewal.

One participant shared,
“We are not here to scale down, but to scale deep—to root solidarity in trust.”
Solidarity rooted in trust - that is how Grassroots International has been accompanying social movements across the globe for over 40 years.
At the 3rd Nyéléni Global Forum, we hosted the first ever delegation of donors to participate and learn. Here, we introduced our new guide [[link removed]] , deeply informed by our relationships and learning with social movements over several decades, that articulates our time-tested practices for rooting solidarity in trust.
The past and continuing success of the Nyéléni process is made possible because of your support.
Will you help us to propel this momentum forward with a donation today?
