This Friday, Movement for Freedom organizers and community allies will hold a sit-in at the Broadview ICE Detention Facility to stand against the inhuman detention and deportation of our neighbors.
In a recent and deeply disturbing display of overreach, federal agents detained teacher Diana Patricia Santilana Galeano at her workplace, a Spanish-language immersion daycare center in Chicago. Her arrest took place in front of children, as agents went from room to room looking to forcibly remove her from the facility. She holds a valid work permit — yet ICE treated her like a criminal, placing fear and trauma into a space meant for safety and learning
We refuse to be silent while families are torn apart, while detention and deportation are used as political weapons. What we show and teach children matters. We’re standing together — for dignity, for safety, and for liberation.
