** New U.S. Climate Alliance Report Showcases States' Progress

** The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of 24 governors representing 54% of the U.S. population committed to climate action. On Nov. 3, the Alliance released its annual report ([link removed]) on how member states (including Maine) and territories are achieving climate success. The report details how Alliance members have:

** Reduced net greenhouse gas emissions 24% below 2005 levels.

** Grew their economies by 34% between 2025 and 2023.

** Deadline Approaching for Heat Pump Innovation Ideas

** A recently installed heat pump at Lamoine Consolidated School.

** Do you have ideas for creatively deploying heat pumps in Maine? Efficiency Maine Trust, with the Maine Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and the Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future (GOPIF), seek comments on what priorities and designs should be considered for a suite of pilot programs to be funded in Maine through the New England Heat Pump Accelerator over the next several years.

This Request for Information ([link removed]) seeks information about innovative applications of heat pump equipment for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system designs and community-level solutions that could help widespread adoption of heat pumps and heat pump water heaters in Maine. Responses are due by Nov 14.

** Public Working Waterfront Fund to Seek Applications

** The Maine Department of Transportation, the Maine Department of Marine Resources, and the Maine Office of Community Affairs will be seeking applications for the Maine Public Working Waterfront Infrastructure Fund ([link removed]) in January 2026.

The Fund will support projects that adapt existing public working waterfront infrastructure to reduce vulnerability to climate change, sea level rise, coastal flooding, and other impacts. Applicants can request up to $75,000 for scoping and design projects, and up to $2 million for construction projects.

** November Winter Heating Resources Webinar
