Friends,

Last week, the Trump administration announced another cruel policy. It's one that could lead to the deportation of more than one million international students if their universities move to online-only classes during COVID-19.

Time and time again, this president tries to distract from his lack of leadership by tapping into xenophobic hatred and by abusing the law to attack immigrants. We must demand that ICE reverse this new rule and allow international students to remain in the United States.

Will you join me in speaking out by adding your name to demand that ICE reverse its heartless student visa changes?

International students contribute so much to our campuses, communities, and country. I know that because I was one. It's unconscionable that the Trump administration would upend their studies and throw their futures into chaos.

Many students simply won't have WiFi in their countries of origin to complete their coursework, or may come from an area of the globe where online classes would take place in the middle of the night. Some may be forced to return to places faced with humanitarian crises.

In all cases, international travel still poses a global public health risk, with some countries even putting America on their list of banned countries because of surging COVID cases here.

We cannot allow the Trump administration to get away with yet another inhumane and bigoted immigration policy -- especially when it puts thousands of international students in danger.
