Friend,

It’s that time of the year again.

I recently received the renewal notice for my campaign’s PO Box, and my mind raced back to one of the toughest early decisions I had to make as a new, inexperienced candidate back in October 2021.

Should I rent the PO Box for six months – enough time to receive mail through the Primary? Or should I go for broke and rent for a full year, signaling that we were going to do whatever we needed to make it to the November General Election?

I know, I know. “It’s only a PO Box,” some of you might say. This may seem like a low-stakes call, but trust me – it was a big deal at the time. Unlike a lot of people nowadays who run for office, I don’t come from great family or personal wealth. After all, as rewarding as the work is, being a meteorologist doesn’t exactly pay millions.

But ultimately, I had to decide whether or not I believed in our campaign, and faith in the grassroots across IL-17 that our support would be strong enough to make it beyond that first election.

I rolled the dice that day, and opted for a year’s lease of the PO Box — and the rest, as they say, is history.

Today, we’re four years into our journey together, and it has been my greatest honor to serve West and Central Illinois in Congress. In that time, we have handled more than 100 constituent requests a day, and overcome constant Republican chaos in Washington to keep Rock Island whole, to keep our ag community humming, and to keep our side of the Quad Cities the stronger half of the region (if I may say so).

In a career of serving my neighbors, there are no fights I cherish more than continuing to go to bat for lower healthcare costs, good-paying local jobs, and the safety of our communities. And I’m ready for four more years of this fight.

So friend, will you make a contribution to help us keep this PO Box going for another year, and hopefully many more beyond that?

Thank you again for your support, from the bottom of my heart.
