John,
For more than 40 days, the federal government has been shut down over demands that Congress act to protect health care affordability for tens of millions of Americans. The affordability crisis is the number one issue on voters’ minds, which is largely why Donald Trump’s party took such a shellacking in last week’s elections.
But, even as we’ve been demanding Congress act to avert massive health insurance rate increases January 1st, Senators had been meeting behind closed doors to undermine all of that work.
Monday night, the Senate voted to end the government shutdown with 8 senators that caucus with Democrats joining their Republican colleagues.1 Now, the House is expected to vote today on this same government funding package that DOES NOT include an extension of the Affordable Care Act subsidies.
We’re fighting back.
We’re making our voices heard.
We’re sharing your stories.2
We’re demanding the House reject this government funding bill unless it renews enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.3 And we will keep fighting for affordable health care, with your help.
Rush a donation today to power our activism and lobbying to stop this bill and fight for health care affordability for tens of millions of Americans.

If Congress ignores the will of the people, millions of everyday Americans will be slammed with health care premiums that are more than double what they’re currently paying. With costs on everything from food to housing already skyrocketing, can you imagine needing to come up with an extra $1,000 or more each month just to keep your health insurance?
That’s the reality for millions of people on the ACA exchanges and it’s why 4 million people are expected to lose their health insurance in the new year.4
Power our campaign to demand Congress reject a government funding bill that does not address health care affordability. Rush a donation today!
