John,
I wish more people could see what leadership actually looks like right now. While the House GOP has been hiding away for 40-odd days while the American people suffered — Mary Gay has been doing the work.
She’s meeting with small business owners in the district. She’s connecting families with resources and sitting with constituents at legal aid clinics. She’s back and forth to D.C. to make sure she’s standing by in case the GOP tries to pull any procedural tricks. That stuff may not make headlines — but it’s the job. And she always shows up.
Now, Congress is being called back to the House floor as Speaker Mike Johnson works to give Trump exactly what he wants: tax cuts for billionaires while making disastrous program cuts for working families.
The fight is officially on.
The sad truth is, the other side isn’t interested in governing or negotiating, unless they’re forced into it. They’ve made that clear. The newly released emails from the Oversight Committee — alleging Trump knew of underage victims in the Epstein network and asking for recruitment at Mar‑a‑Lago to be stopped — underscore it.
And the fallout from the GOP shutdown is real: families have faced interruptions in food assistance, court cases have ground to a halt, and thousands and thousands of public workers were left without pay — all so a handful of extremists can push their cruel agenda.
This campaign is how we fight back. Not with noise, but with substance. With service. With results.
We’re working toward a $7,600 internal fundraising goal by Tuesday night to stay on track — and we’re still about $4,360 away. If you’re able to chip in today, it would make a real difference.
Thanks for being part of this team. We’re lucky to have you in the fight with us.
— Luke
