Good morning, John ~
As we head into the giving season, we're not slowing down—we're doubling down.
From securing investments in climate resilience to defending clean energy and voting rights, MCV and our partners are holding the line at the state level and working to secure a vibrant climate future.
These victories prove that when we work together, bold progress is possible. But the work is far from over. As we look toward 2026, MCV is preparing to defend these hard-fought gains and push for policies that keep Maine a national leader in conservation and secure elections.
To keep fighting—and winning—we need you to stand with us.
Below are several ways you can support our work influencing policy, holding politicians accountable, educating the public, and collaborating with partners across the state to tackle the climate crisis and protect the environment and our democracy in Maine.
Ways to Give to Maine Conservation Voters & Maine Conservation Alliance
Qualified Charitable Distribution
If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your individual retirement account (IRA) to support Maine Conservation Alliance. This type of gift—called a qualified charitable distribution (QCD)—can reduce your taxable income. Once you reach the age when you’re required to take minimum distributions from your IRA (currently 73), your QCD can also count toward satisfying that required minimum distribution.
To make a gift through your IRA, please contact your administrator or financial advisor. If you have any additional questions, please contact me at [email protected].
Appreciated Assets
Giving appreciated assets including stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, to Maine Conservation Alliance or Maine Conservation Voters helps protect the land, water, and air and act on climate! For more information, including instructions on how to make your gift of appreciated assets, please click here or contact me at [email protected].
Donor Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that allows donors to easily make gifts to charitable organizations – including Maine Conservation Alliance.
To make a gift through your Donor Advised Fund or list Maine Conservation Alliance as a beneficiary, please contact your fund administrator. Gifts through Fidelity, Schwab, or BNY Melon can be made through DAF Direct on our website. If you have any additional questions, please contact me at [email protected].
