This is serious: A bill has been introduced in Congress that could end lifesaving protections for grizzly bears under the Endangered Species Act. This dangerous bill directs the Department of the Interior to remove federal ESA protections from the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem grizzly bears, despite what bear biologists say they need. Even worse, this bill blocks citizens of their rights to seek redress in our nation’s federal court system. This is anti-democratic and just plain unfair.

Grizzly bears were almost wiped out once before, but thanks to the Endangered Species Act, they’ve slowly started to recover. Once numbering 50,000 or more, sadly less than 2,000 grizzly bears exist in the Lower 48, and their populations won’t survive if their critical ESA protections are removed and trophy hunters get their way.
