Hey, Ethan here. I’m the guy on the TDP team who loves numbers and sees beauty in an Excel spreadsheet.
As we move closer to the 2026 midterms, I’ve been fixated on the data behind our TDP Vote-by-Mail (VBM) program. I know, I know… You are wondering why I am bringing this up right now…
Well, we started our VBM program back in 2018 as a way to increase voting accessibility — particularly important in such a huge state with so many miles between polling places and so many obstacles to requesting a mail-in ballot. And I can tell you with confidence that this program is a MASSIVE undertaking where preparation is key. That is why I am bugging Kendall by pushing to start raising for it now.
Truly — we now have VBM down to a science — because we ran the largest VBM experiment of any campaign in Texas. I can tell you exactly what it costs to mobilize one voter to:
A. Request their ballot
B. Complete it and
C. Turn it back in.
It’s $10.26.
Before the end of the month, can I count on you to chip in $10.26 (or what you can) to the strong foundation of funding for our VBM program? Think of it as adopting a fellow voter.
Our VBM program is our most efficient voter contact method. And if you’ve ever participated in a phone bank or neighborhood canvass, you know how arduous voter contact can be! Especially in the midst of rampant voter suppression by the GOP and Donald Trump himself. You can make a real material difference by chipping in today to help us get our vote-by-mail program fired up now that we’re officially in the election year. You can help here.
Thank you,
Ethan
