Her Bold Move has supported hundreds of women across the country, including me. And today, I am proud to join them in officially endorsing Aftyn Behn as we near her General Election (a Special Election) for Tennessee's 7th Congressional District on December 2nd.

Last month, Aftyn Behn won her primary election. She was the only woman running in the primary and the only real champion for the women of Tennessee. I'm writing to you today, with the help of Her Bold Move, because this is by no means a typical race, and Aftyn isn’t a typical candidate.

I know firsthand what happens when men in power pass laws that strip women of the right to control their own health. When my pregnancy developed fatal complications, Tennessee’s abortion ban would’ve forced me to carry until my life was in danger, so I had no choice but to flee the state. Speaking out became necessary, and I told my story in front of the state Capitol, in Congress, and to anyone who would listen—because silence never protected anyone.

And every step of the way, Aftyn Behn was there. Long before she ran for office herself, Aftyn was organizing alongside women like me, pushing back on Tennessee’s abortion ban, and amplifying the voices of those harmed by it. In the state legislature, she didn’t just vote the right way—she fought publicly and unapologetically against Republican attempts to criminalize healthcare, control our bodies, and punish families in crisis. When others looked away, she leaned in. When they tried to silence us, she gave us a microphone.

That’s why I believe so deeply in Aftyn’s campaign for Congress. She has proven, time and again, that she will never back down when it comes to protecting our fundamental rights. She knows these fights aren’t abstract policy debates—they are life-and-death struggles for women, mothers, and families across Tennessee.

This race is about more than politics. It is about whether women’s lives and freedoms will continue to be treated as negotiable. Tennessee took my choice away when I needed it most, but I chose to fight back. And today, I am choosing to fight alongside Aftyn Behn, because she has been in this fight from the very beginning.
