Character matters in this world
I actually care about what kind of person you become by reading The Christian Century. Does your character deepen with outrage over cruelty, injustice, and retribution? Does it grow in empathy, compassion, and grace-filled behavior? Character matters in this world, or at least it should, which is why I ask.
Just as I care about what kind of person the Century helps you become, I also care about what sort of people we are on this end—we who put this magazine together. One of the greatest privileges of my job is being part of a staff whose faith and character inform the decisions we make about articles and news content. Our aim is to operate with constancy, integrity, and a moral framework that will inform every life of faith.
If you appreciate the soul of this magazine as having an impact on your life, I hope you’ll support our work financially. We have a $50,000 matching gift on the table. That’s correct: a couple is willing to DOUBLE any gift you provide to this nonprofit journalistic ministry before Dec. 31, 2025. If you’re amazed by that goodness, trust me, I am too.
I hope your heart and mind can open up to give in a generous way. Without supportive friends like you, we simply wouldn’t exist.
Thank you,
