It is an exceptional week for our organization. Perhaps the most exceptional week for our organization ever, and it’s only Wednesday. But wait! There’s more.
Tomorrow will be another banner day for us, and it will take place in New York City. We will be hosting two consecutive events in the Big Apple that each celebrate the culmination of our hard work. It’s finally time to share with you all the products of that work in the hopes that it will advance our movement towards a healthier and safer New York and America.
First up is our New York Impact Report launch as well as our New York ad campaign launch. This special Impact Report focuses on how New York’s legalization of marijuana and subsequent regulatory framework are failing New Yorkers, essentially bringing the opposite of what was promised. Our New York ad campaign pulls directly from the report, and both will be unveiled at the same event in the Partnership to End Addiction headquarters. Next up is the book launch event. This is for my new book (officially out yesterday!) One Nation Under The Influence. As National Institute for Drug Abuse founder Bob DuPont said, this book is my magnum opus. It focuses on drugs as a whole and reflects the viewpoint of both the organizations that I lead: We are giving drugs way too much leeway; there is a better way. The event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 pm EST, also Thursday. Tune in to join in the celebration and learn more about the writing of this book as well as the issues it covers that remain salient.
