I wanted to make sure you saw my note from Saturday about the importance of grassroots contributions to our people-powered campaign. This Wednesday, our campaign is facing our final FEC filing deadline before our primary election on August 4. Our final pre-primary fundraising numbers will become public, and people across the country will be looking to measure the strength of this grassroots campaign as the general election ramps up and we go head-to-head with Ann Wagner. We’ve set an ambitious goal of raising an additional $10,000 before this important deadline to set us up for success in our general election showdown. If you’re able, will you chip in right now to ensure we meet this goal?
Thank you, Jill --------- Forwarded message --------- From: Jill Schupp Date: Sat, Jul 11, 2020 at 10:31 AM Subject: Asking for $5 Friends and Neighbors, I am so grateful for this grassroots team. Because of you, we ended the second quarter in a really strong position, and we did so without taking a dime of corporate PAC money. Now, as we look towards the last four months of our race, we can’t slow down for even a moment. Today, I’m writing to ask you, personally, to help us keep up our grassroots momentum by chipping in $5 to our people-powered campaign.
Friend, I was among the first in my family to graduate from college, where I worked three jobs while attending school full-time. I know what every dollar means to a hard-working family, and it’s what shaped my commitment to public service -- from my time on the school board to my time in Jefferson City. But my opponent has spent her time as your representative taking millions from corporate PACs and special interests because that’s really who she’s working for in Congress. The way to combat that kind of big money influence is to build a true grassroots movement of people chipping in $5, $25, $100, or whatever they can and centering our campaign around the issues that matter most to hard-working Missourians. That’s why we’re fighting to ensure access to affordable health care, lower the price of prescription drugs, and create economic opportunity for everyone. So, I’m asking you, Friend. Will you pitch in $5 or more to help us win this race and bring meaningful change to Missouri’s Second District?
I can’t thank you enough for being a part of this grassroots team. I know that with you on my side, we will flip this seat blue in November. --Jill I know this is a difficult time for many, which is why I'm working harder than ever to bring positive change to Washington. I hope you'll consider donating to our campaign only if you can afford to do so. Above all else, take care of yourself and your friends, family, and neighbors. I know I am not alone when I say, our hearts go out to the people who are doing the hard work of caring for us: in the hospitals, in our stores, by delivering our mail, providing care and being there for emergencies. This is a time where we stand together by staying apart, and work together for good outcomes for today and the future.
