This weekend, I filed the official paperwork to run for re-election, and today I got the confirmation that it's all in order.  That means my name will be on the ballot for Texas’ Seventh Congressional District again in 2026!

It’s amazing to me that this is already my fifth time putting my name on the ballot for TX07.  Back in 2018, people didn’t believe that this district could ever elect a Democrat.  It had been more than 50 years, after all.  But together we built a broad and diverse coalition to do so, and together, we made history.  And we have continued together in the years since, bringing a little more Houston to Washington, D.C.

This year, the stakes could not be higher.  Our democracy and our freedom are on the ballot.  And so much more—from fighting for access to affordable health care, to ensuring every Texan gets fair representation, to ensuring equality and justice for all—we have so many challenges ahead.

We know the path ahead won’t be easy.  But we also know what’s possible when we work together.  We witnessed it again just last week—and just in time.  Our work for 2026 has already begun, and your participation will carry us to victory in 2026 and beyond, helping build a better future for all Americans.

As you know, we’ve kept our campaign office open all year as a hub for organizing, outreach, and community-building in every corner of TX07.  Whether it’s making calls, sending postcards, joining a block walk, or contributing money to help us get the message out and mobilize voters—every kind of contribution matters.  And they are all essential to winning.  And that’s what we do on #TeamLizzie.
