Honoring Service, Living Aloha
Today, we pause not for politics but for gratitude.
We honor the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform, from the shores of Pearl Harbor to the mountains of Afghanistan. They carried the weight of freedom so the rest of us could carry on with hope.
In Hawai‘i, service is not a slogan. It is a way of life. Our veterans have led in the field, led in crisis, and continue to lead at home as parents, teachers, small-business owners, and community builders. Their courage did not end when the uniform came off. It took new form in how they continue to serve.
Veterans Day reminds us that freedom depends on more than sacrifice. It depends on how we treat each other when we come home. The mission continues every time we lend a hand, mentor a young person, or stand up for what is right in our neighborhoods.
To every veteran across our islands and beyond, we see you. We thank you. We honor your service not only in words but in how we live.
Mahalo for your courage. Aloha for your example. Imua, together.
