John, This Veterans Day, I want to take a moment to honor the men and women who have served our nation, and give a special thank you to the veterans and military families who call our community home. |
Veterans Day has always held deep meaning for me, not just because I’m a proud son of a veteran.
During my 20 years teaching at Bucks County Technical High School, I started a program called Beyond the Books, which brought local veterans into the classrooms to share their stories with students. Their experiences helped teach the younger generations freedom is not free, and that service comes with great sacrifice.
Our community has a proud history of service. Our neighborhoods are home to thousands of veterans who continue to give back — as mentors, public servants, and volunteers. Today, we honor them and recommit to ensuring that every veteran has access to the care and respect they deserve.
To all who have served, and to the families who support them, thank you. Your courage and dedication continues to inspire us every day.
