John,
We deserve leaders who fight for us — not deals that sell us out.
The government shutdown — the longest in U.S. history — ended the same way too many fights in Washington do: with working people paying the price.
Senate Democrats, aided by eight so-called “moderates,” caved to Trump and the Republicans, passing a funding bill that raises health care premiums for millions and leaves families without coverage — all while billionaires keep their profits.
But here’s the good news: when politicians fold, movements rise up.
This Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, we’re organizing across the country to say We Ain’t Buying It and refusing to shop at companies that are enabling this administration — Target, Amazon, and Home Depot.
We Ain’t Buying It is a nationwide weekend of economic noncooperation.
When government fails us, people show up for each other.
Here’s what to do:
-
Don't shop at Target, Amazon, or Home Depot from Nov 27 - Dec 1. Shop small and local instead.
-
Donate what you save to local food justice efforts or mutual aid groups.
-
Share it everywhere. Post on social media using #WeAintBuyingIt to tell the world why you're not shopping — and tag the corporations that need to hear it (@Target, @HomeDepot or @Amazon).
Share to spread the word
For eleven months, our communities have faced relentless attacks — mass firings of federal workers, corporate pressure to dismantle DEI, and ICE raids targeting our neighbors. Now, as 42 million people go hungry because of this shutdown, corporations like Target, Home Depot, and Amazon are still cashing in — profiting off policies that harm working families, immigrants, and communities of color.
This holiday season — when nearly 20% of all retail sales happen — we’re using our collective power to speak the only language corporations understand: money.
Because our silence isn’t for sale, and our values aren’t up for purchase.
Share. Post. Organize. Say it loud: We Ain’t Buying It. Together, we’ll remind every politician — and every corporation — who this country actually belongs to.
Share to spread the word
This holiday season, we’re not just skipping the sales — we’re taking back our power.
Onwards,
Team WFP
