We’re less than a year from the 2026 midterms, team. You know, the election Donald Trump, Greg Abbott, and Texas Republicans tried to fix with their mid-decade redistricting plot.
The Texas Democrats took a stand, Illinois Democrats came to our aid, and California Democrats got Prop 50 on the ballot. CA voters neutralized Trump and Abbott’s plot to secure power at the polls (Teamwork feels good y’all, doesn’t it?!) – however, we know the fight is far from over and we need to use every single day over the next 357 days to optimize and fully fund our tried and true voter mobilization efforts.
And at the top of that list: one of our most effective voter turnout programs here in Texas, vote-by-mail (VBM).
VBM is one of the best tools we have to increase access to the ballot, especially in our big ‘ol state. It is also a MASSIVE undertaking that takes ample preparation to run it effectively.
So right now, one of our primary goals ahead of 2026 is to protect and expand vote by mail — especially in the face of attacks from Donald Trump and our TX Secretary of State dropping the ball on voter resources. According to the Analyst Institute, it costs TDP exactly $10.26 to contact, mobilize, and follow up with one Texas voter. That’s $20.52 for two voters. Can you chip in to help us mobilize older voters ahead of 2026?
Texas Dems kicked off the vote by mail program in 2018 with the goal of increasing voter turnout — we’ve been iterating ever since. We know exactly how much it costs to get voters to the polls, and based on our current projections, we need to start raising today to activate our program fully for 2026: can you help us get them there?
Onward!
