John,

I recently went into the belly of the beast - Fox News - to question why Donald Trump is more worried about redecorating his bathroom than watching millions of Americans lose healthcare or go hungry.

Let’s be clear, John: Even during this shutdown, SNAP should not have been cut-off. The money was there, and mandated by Congress to be used when other funding was unavailable. In fact, courts agreed. But Trump refused to follow their orders.

Trump is willing to make Americans go hungry if it serves his political goals. And that’s unacceptable.

Now, the Senate is hoping to push through an agreement that doesn’t address the expiration of ACA subsidies, meaning people in our district could see their insurance premiums rise by as much as 300%.

Just like I said on Fox, I won’t rubber-stamp a Republican agenda that rips healthcare from millions of Americans. And since the bill coming from the Senate still could take away your ability to see your doctor and afford lifesaving medications, I’m a strong no!
