Our nation's military represents and fights for our nation's most fundamental ideals of freedom, democracy, and equality. But in contrast to those ideals, a number of military bases across the country are named for Confederate leaders -- glorifying the Confederacy and the vile institution of slavery. That has to change.

In our current reckoning with the ways our government and society have glorified white supremacist leaders and ideology throughout history, it's time for us to remove all symbols of this hateful, harmful era from our military bases.

That's why Cory joined his Democratic colleagues in introducing the Removing Confederate Names and Symbols from Our Military Act, legislation that would require the Pentagon to remove all names, symbols, displays, monuments and paraphernalia that honor or commemorate the Confederate States of America from all military bases and other assets of the Department of Defense within one year.

If you're with Cory and believe it's time we rename our military bases and remove all symbols honoring the Confederacy from our military, add your name to strengthen our call to action and demand the Senate vote on this bill now.

Together, we can ensure that our government and military institutions no longer commemorate the hateful legacy of the Confederate States of America, but instead welcome and support every person in the United States of America.

Thanks for joining us in this effort,

Team Booker
