The BBC brings us all together, and provides unbiased news. It is critical to Britain staying a tolerant and decent country.

But today Donald Trump, and his cronies like Nigel Farage, are trying to destroy it.

The President has just launched a legal claim for $1bn - enough to cripple the BBC.

We have to protect the BBC.

We’ve seen the damage Trump’s attacks on the media have done to US democracy. We can’t let that be repeated here in the UK.

The BBC belongs to us all. We own it, we pay for it, and we treasure it.
