Veterans Day is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a promise — that service and sacrifice will be met with care and opportunity here at home. As we thank those for their selfless act of serving our nation, we must also act.

We make a promise to those who have served that when they return home they will have the resources they need, but far too often our nation has failed to hold up our end of the deal.

So today, let’s thank our veterans not just with words, but with work. Let’s keep building the kind of Minnesota — and the kind of America — worthy of their service.
