Happy Veterans Day, John!
Today, we honor those who have served and put their lives on the line to
protect our freedoms and uphold the democratic values that define our
nation.
Their sacrifice is a powerful reminder that democracy is not a guarantee.
The freedoms our veterans fought to defend — the right to vote, to speak
freely, to live with dignity and equality — are only as strong as our will
to protect them. And at a time when those very freedoms are being tested,
the greatest way we can thank our veterans is by standing up for the
democracy they sacrificed to preserve.
Let’s honor their service not only with our words, but with our actions —
by defending our democracy and preserving a nation where every voice
counts, every ballot is protected, and every person has an equal stake in
our shared future.
