Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have worn our great country’s uniform.

In South Texas, service runs deep. Our veterans are our neighbors, our family, and our friends. Their sacrifices remind us every day what duty, courage, and love of country truly mean.

In Congress, I’ve always fought for veterans – from upgrading the GI Bill and increasing funding for veteran health services to introducing caregiver support measures and revitalizing the VA Home Loan program.

Veterans represent the best of America, and this Veterans Day, let’s take a moment to thank those who served and recommit to supporting them long after their service has ended. That means continuing to ensure that they have access to quality healthcare, good jobs, and respect.

To every veteran and military family: Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
