** Gratitude for Our Veterans
------------------------------------------------------------
I am full of gratitude for the men and women who have devoted their time and talents and who have made significant sacrifices to protect Americans and our constitutional values.
A short history: Veterans Day (originally named Armistice Day) is a U.S. federal holiday observed annually on November 11 for honoring U.S. military veterans. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice (a formal, mutual agreement to stop fighting) with Germany went into effect. In 1954, major U.S. veteran organizations urged the renaming of Armistice Day to Veterans Day.
