John,
This Veterans Day, we honor all of our veterans, including those who continue to serve, sacrificing and protecting our most sacred values and freedoms. Since our nation’s founding, millions of brave Americans have stood up for our country. Their bravery and selflessness are the reason we can enjoy the freedoms and opportunities we hold dear today. It’s important that we not only remember them today but also express our gratitude for their service and honor their courage, commitment, and love for our country.
On Veterans Day, I honor the memory of my grandfather, James Parker, who served proudly in the Navy. After dedicating years of his life defending our nation, he spent his retirement raising me with my grandmother. He showed me the importance of honor, courage, and commitment. He taught me to stand firm in what I believe in, even in the face of adversity, and his memory lives on in everything I do.
I hope you will join me in honoring the courage and commitment of those who served.
Thank you,
Mayor Parker
