Patriot,
Uncle Sam owes me a Christmas.
As a young Special Forces Recon Marine back in 1990, my unit got the call: pack your gear, you’re headed out.
Christmas Eve at 11 PM, we boarded a Pan Am 747 bound for Saudi Arabia, where we landed on December 26th.
No Christmas tree. No family dinner. Just a plane full of Marines heading into Operation Desert Shield.
Out in the desert, we lived in the dirt, called in airstrikes, and slipped across borders to gather intel. General Schwarzkopf told us, “Make as much noise as you can.” Task Force Ripper did exactly that.
I came home with a Combat Action Ribbon, a Meritorious Mast, and a few scars that don’t show on the outside.
But most of all, I came home with a lifelong love for this country and a promise to keep serving it.
That’s why I’m stepping forward again, to serve New Mexico and America in Congress.
