Trump has responded to antiracist conversations in the sports world the same way he responds to everything -- with ugliness, racism, and unbridled misogyny.
 
A tweet from @realDonaldTrump reads “They name teams out of STRENGTH, not weakness, but now the Washington Redskins & Cleveland Indians, two fabled sports franchises, look like they are going to be changing their names in order to be politically correct. Indians, like Elizabeth Warren, must be very angry right now!Source: Twitter
 
There was no reason for the president to make the above statement -- or to smear Elizabeth Warren, who has nothing to do with the ongoing discussion about name changes in the sports world.
 
 
It’s possible that Trump is still angry about Warren’s amendment to remove Confederate names from military bases -- a move Trump is so opposed to he’s threatened to veto the entire annual defense spending bill over it. 
 
Warren’s continued fight for progress in America should earn her praise, not scorn. But as long as Trump is president, she’ll never get the credit she’s due -- unless it comes directly from her supporters. So please, if you stand with Warren and against Trump, let us know now:
