At GOA, we will never forget the price America’s veterans paid to protect our freedoms. And that’s exactly why we spent three decades fighting against the Clinton-era Veterans Administration gun ban.
For years, over a quarter of a million veterans were disarmed by bureaucrats just for having a fiduciary handle their veterans benefits. But starting in 2024, GOA was able to secure an amendment to the annual appropriations bill to prevent VA bureaucrats from disarming any more veterans.
But according to the latest data, there are as many as 270,851 veterans still disarmed in the FBI’s background check system.
Additionally, new reports indicate that the Department of War has been systematically disarming service members and veterans using a process known as “titling.”
Once a veteran or service member has been "titled" in the Defense Central Index of Investigations, their name is submitted to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System DISARMED without a trial, charges, or a conviction.
GOA is calling on President Trump to end the unconstitutional & unlawful “titling” gun ban and to remove ALL veterans and service members who have been unlawfully disarmed!
