Supervisor Sherrill is holding a public hearing on Thursday to urge the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) to develop a clear intervention plan to address drug use and drug activity within 250 feet of parks, playgrounds, and schools.

The resolution calls for issuing citations and connecting individuals to detox or processing services to ensure our public spaces are safe for children and families.


If San Francisco is to become the number one city in America for young families, we must ensure that kids can walk to school without passing open drug use or worrying about used needles in playgrounds.


Your presence matters. By showing up at 9:30 AM, you’ll send a strong message to City Hall: drug use in front of our kids is unacceptable, and families deserve safe, clean public spaces.


🕘 Please arrive by 9:15 AM so the rally can begin promptly at 9:30 AM.

📺 The committee meeting will begin at 10:00 AM in the Board Chamber (Room 250) inside City Hall.
