I want you to hear this from me: I won’t support a deal that allows health care costs to skyrocket for families and small businesses across the country. Full stop.

This has been the longest government shutdown in history, and instead of working toward a deal, Speaker Johnson has kept the House closed since September. Donald Trump continues to gut vital services, and at this moment, he is fighting in court to block SNAP payments for hungry children, proving that he does not care about lowering costs for working families.

This fight has always been about keeping health care costs from skyrocketing and making life more affordable for Granite Staters. That’s still my focus, and that’s why I’ll be a no on this deal.
