After Proposition 50 passed and redrew California's congressional boundaries, I had a significant decision to make about where to run.

It was emotional, but ultimately it was an easy choice. I chose home.

I’m proud to announce that I’m running for Congress in California’s new 41st District — it’s where I live, raised my son, and have spent my career fighting for working families.

Our communities aren’t defined by lines on a map. They’re defined by the people who live, work, and raise their families here. Before I go on, I hope you’ll take a moment to support my campaign:

With this announcement, I want to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

I’m the proud daughter of Mexican immigrant parents and a lifelong Southern Californian. Before entering public service, I was a labor lawyer fighting abusive corporations and a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. I became the first woman in IBEW history ever elected to Congress.

In Congress, I’ve never been afraid to take on tough battles. I’ve fought to bring jobs back from overseas, strengthen American manufacturing, and ensure our trade deals protect workers — not corporate special interests. And as Chair of BOLD PAC, I’ve worked to expand Latino representation in Congress and uplift working families, women, and immigrants.

That’s the fight I’ll continue to lead in the new 41st District, and I need your help to make it happen.
