I am proud and excited to be named a Gun Sense Candidate with Moms Demand Action! I earned this distinction in my 2018 race, and will continue to be a gun sense candidate as I run for re-election in 2020.
This grassroots group of volunteers is leading the charge for sensible gun sense legislation in Illinois and beyond.
In 2019 I co-sponsored and voted for the Fix the Foid bill SB1966 in the General Assembly, which would tighten loopholes. Perhaps most importantly, it would required background checks at point-of-sale locations, including unlicensed firearms dealers.
Moms Demand Action has a proven track record of gun sense victories across many states. I am thrilled to earn their distinction again for 2020, and am committed to fighting for gun safety in our state.
