Movement
family,

I want you to know where I stand: Democrats should reject the Senate’s new
government funding deal.

The deal does nothing to address the healthcare crisis that Republicans
have created. It does not reverse their cruel cuts to Medicaid. It does
not extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies. It does not stop healthcare
costs from skyrocketing.

And this is a matter of life and death. Healthcare is not a nice-to-have.
It is a must-have. It is a human right. Democratic Senators should be
fighting for it like lives depend on it, because they do.

Millions of Americans have been counting on us to hold the line. I’m
thinking of people like a constituent of mine I recently spoke to, a
manager of a homeless shelter, who just received a letter in the mail
about his premiums going from $200 a month to almost $1,000 a month.

He needs a real solution. So do others like him in the Massachusetts 7th
and all over the country. People want their members of Congress to fight
for them with everything we've got, and a vote for this bill would be a
betrayal of the people we were elected to serve. That’s why I will not
back down.

[ [link removed] ]If you believe we need leaders who hold the line, 10 toes down, for
fundamental rights like healthcare, food, housing, and more, then chip in
to help keep me in the fight.

In solidarity,

Ayanna
