Dear John, We’re excited to invite you to an evening of literature, activism, and discussion with New York Times bestselling author Jenny Offill. Join us Sunday, July 26, at 5:00pm on Zoom for “Cli-Fi, Literature, and Activism with Jenny Offill.”
During the event, Jenny Offill will perform a reading of her new novel, Weather, an anxious and funny novel that follows a librarian who is gradually awakened to the climate crisis and tries to balance that with her daily life. As a Guardian reporter put it, “At its core, the story asks: what happens after we start to pay attention?” During the event discussion, we’ll aim to answer that very question. Because we at CCAN believe nothing happens in a vacuum, we’ll also be joined by a member of the Black Voters Matter Capacity Building Institute to bring in how environmental justice is tied to the upcoming election — the most important election of our lives.
