Each month we hold Planning Commission meetings and present to the Board of Island County Commissioners (Board) on topics relevant to Island County’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update. Below are our upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities.

Board of County Commissioners

At the Board’s meeting on November 12, Long Range Planning will provide an overall comprehensive plan schedule update. Planning staff will also review the drafted code updates to support Island County’s Comprehensive Plan’s housing allocations. Updates are proposed to the following uses:

  • Supportive Housing
  • Co-living Housing
  • Mixed-Use LAMIRD (formerly mixed-use RAIDs)
  • Rural Clusters and Rural Affordable Clusters (formerly PRDs)
  • Temporary Uses
  • Unit Lot Subdivision
