Governor Gordon Continues to Monitor the Use of Funds Under the Wyoming Hunger Relief Program
“No one in Wyoming wants their neighbors to go hungry.”
CHEYENNE, Wyo. - November 10,2025 - Governor Mark Gordon (R-WY) continues to watch the ongoing negotiation around the federal shutdown. Currently, under the Governor’s Declaration of Public Welfare Emergency, the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS) has expended $109,509 to independent pantries, $544,290 directly to food pantries who are affiliated with the Food Bank of Wyoming and $544,290 to the Food Bank of Wyoming.
Under the Governor’s direction the State will continue to monitor the situation and expend funds on a weekly basis as needed until the federal shutdown ends.
“Until funds for SNAP beneficiaries are freed up in Washington, D.C., Wyoming will continue to help those in need. No one in Wyoming wants their neighbors to go hungry,” Governor Gordon said.
As a reminder, the Wyoming Hunger Relief Program does not fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) directly. The funds, up to $10 million in total, are being distributed by DFS and used to help augment all food insecurity across the state.
