John, North Carolinians need their health care, and I am calling on the GOP to come to the table to help me secure it. That’s why I’m taking the step of convening an extra legislative session this month to bring lawmakers back together to get Medicaid funded. Look, Washington Republicans decided to slash funding for Medicaid to give a tax break to the very wealthiest Americans. Now, Raleigh Republicans, who say they are on board with keeping Medicaid funded, are shamefully using people’s health and well-being as political bargaining chips and refusing to get this done. More than three million North Carolinians rely on Medicaid, John — and Medicaid helps keep our state’s health care system working for those of us on private insurance, too.
