John,

Eight Senate Democrats broke ranks and joined the GOP to end the
government shutdown, and in doing so, they guaranteed higher healthcare
premiums for millions of working people. There’s no way around it: Those
eight Senate Democrats sold out millions of Americans. Many of them are
the very constituents they swore to protect.

Leaders who won’t bend to the will of Republicans or Trump.

This is what happens when Democrats bargain with extremists instead of
standing with the people.

It should never have even had to come to this. Healthcare should never be
a bargaining chip in the first place. It should be guaranteed for all
Americans.

Instead of fighting for Medicare for All, Senate Democrats caved to
protect a broken system: one that delays care, drives up costs, and keeps
corporate insurers in charge.

Establishment Democrats will say “now isn’t the time.” That we need to
“wait our turn.” But tell that to the family rationing insulin, or the
single mom who can’t afford a specialist visit. Tell that to the people
losing loved ones because Congress is more afraid of upsetting the health
insurance lobbyists than it is of failing the American people. Tell that
to families like mine who were struggling to survive, where one health
emergency would’ve shattered our fragile equilibrium.

John, we need
a new generation of leaders who won’t trade our health for political
convenience. Leaders who will fight for Medicare for All — no premiums, no
copays, no loopholes. It’s long overdue.

That’s why I’m running. Because I refuse to let billionaires, lobbyists,
and party bosses decide who gets to see a doctor.

If you believe every person deserves guaranteed healthcare, I need you
with me today.

before profit.

In solidarity,

Angela Gonzales-Torres
